Ethel W. Owens 97th Birthday Song -- "She Loves You"
More About This Video
On Sunday, May 17, 2020, my brothers, a sister-in-law, my niece, my nephew, my partner and I gathered outside the Little Nursing Home in Montclair, NJ, to formally wish my mother, Ethel, a happy 97th birthday! It would be her last birthday; she died on October 27, 2020. COVID could not do her in; she had just had enought!
Mom was our family's ARTivist extraordinaire. She had witnessed and experienced so much during a wonderful life. Mom and the LNH staff were given a strawberry shortcake (her favorite), and we serenaded her with Beatle songs -- which she always loves. The Beatle song tradition was started by Geoffrey in 1975 and it's been going strong ever since! This is the video of our "encore" number. Enjoy!
(And we wish every nursing home was as successful as LNH at preventing a COVID takeover!) Special thanks to "videographer," Bessie Wong ...
